An exciting week in Tokyo with Impulse Partners and Thomas Le Diouron.

Here are a few highlights from this week:

We were present at City Tech Tokyo for this two-day event alongside multiple players in the construction industry. A particular shout out to our partner Shimizu with whom we hosted a dedicated networking event between stakeholders and startups such as Cambridge Cleantech, Enter Espoo and Sude&Co.

Together with Ville de Paris, we also facilitated discussions between attendees and the startups in our ecosystem, such as opendatasoft, currently with established operations in Japan, as well as Nexqt and Biodatabank, a Japanese company that we support in its expansion to France. A big thank you to Alice and Johanna, Innovation Officers for Paris!

On Wednesday, Impulse Partners, Zacua Ventures and SmartInnovation organized an Open-Innovation workshop with key players in the Japanese construction sector. This session allowed us to highlight European and American construction best practices, as well as testimonials from investors and startups. We thank frontline, Biodatabank and Finalcad for presenting their business feedback on their open innovation journey.

Finally, we visited Shimizu’s new headquarters in Chuo-ward (Tokyo), an impressive and sustainable building designed to run on low energy, including optimized air conditioning and photovoltaic window panels. This same occasion allowed us to also see OpenSpace in use, an Californian AI company that creates next-generation construction management tools.

We were thrilled to connect with our partners, clients, and startups driving innovation in the construction industry in Tokyo and Asia. It’s always a pleasure to share our expertise and connect with key players in the industry. We hope to see you soon, Tokyo!
